An epidemiologist answers viewers' questions about COVID-19


More than two years into the pandemic, most Americans have returned to a sense of some normalcy. But the virus is still disrupting daily life in the U.S. with more than 130,000 per day and deaths on the rise. We reached out to viewers about their latest questions on COVID-19. Katelyn Jetelina, an epidemiologist with the University of Texas, joins Judy Woodruff to provide some answers.

COVID-19: Experts say you should get your omicron booster now


Experts advise Americans who are eligible for a COVID-19 booster shot to go ahead and get it now. COVID-19 in Ohio: State reports more than 29,876 new cases in the past week.

The figure is an increase of more than 3,000 from last’s week as well as the largest since the state began reporting new cases only on a weekly basis back in April. A survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation found most parents of young children are reluctant to have them vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to the survey, 43 percent of parents with children under age five say they will “definitely not” get their child vaccinated. 54 percent think the vaccine is a greater risk than the actual virus.
